November 2020 update

December 3, 2020

Schedule updates, and the latest feedback on our app!

Jacob Flood, December 3 2020

Hey Backers,

November has been a crazy month for us – after many months of hard work, shipping hundreds of units has been exhilarating. We can’t wait to ship many more, and get Enophone into the hands of all of our backers.

This update will focus on clarifying our next steps, and providing some details for both backers who have received their units, and those coming soon.

350 units have been received to date, with 250 more coming this month. We’re working on our next batch of 2500 units, which will be shipping in February. We will be shipping in the order that the units were purchased, starting with Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and then our website.

We’ve included instructions below about finding your backer number, and updating your shipping address. It’s important that Kickstarter and Indiegogo backers fill out the backerkit survey. If you ordered through or, nothing more is needed.

Finally, we’ve released the latest update 0.1.2 to the Enowork app. If you have received your unit and are using the app, we need your help finding bugs – please reach out if you encounter any issues!

Shipping timeline

  • Batch 1 – 100 units (August 2020)
  • Batch 2A – 250 units (November 2020)
  • Batch 2B – 250 units (December 2020)
  • Batch 3 – 2500 units (February 2021)
  • Batch 4 – all remaining units (TBD)

For context: so far, we’ve shipped two batches of units.

Batch 1 of 100 units were shipped in August, and went towards certification, reliability testing, and the initial beta testers. This helped us certify and test the manufacturing process before moving into larger batches.

Batch 2 of 500 units were manufactured in November, of which the first half have been received by backers. We’ve been working very closely with the backers who’ve received their units to debug both the hardware and the software. Thank you to everyone who’s contributed time and effort to helping us with this process.

The second half of batch 2 are currently being reviewed by the manufacturing team for quality control. Once they get the final stamp of approval, these units will be shipping to backers later this month.

Batch 3 of 2500 units will begin as soon as batch 2B is approved, and will take 4-6 weeks to produce and ship. We’ve already purchased and assembled the parts for this batch, and are ready to start the process as soon as batch 2B is shipped.

Batch 4 will begin immediately after batch 3, and we anticipate will similarly take 4-6 weeks to produce and ship. We don’t want to project a specific date, since the speed of this batch will in part depend on the quality of batch 3. One thing’s for sure however: this batch will ship to all remaining backers across all platforms!

Shipping order

In order to remain as fair as possible, we are shipping each unit in the order they were purchased. This order is as follows:

  1. Kickstarter
  2. Indiegogo

For Kickstarter and Indiegogo backers, please note that the backer number provided by backerkit is incorrect. We are relying on your pledge number from the respective platforms, not backerkit’s numbering.

How to find your backer number

  • Log into your account, and find “Backed Projects” in the top right corner.
  • Under the “You Backed This Project” banner, click “view pledge”.
  • Scroll down to see “backer number”.

  • Log into your account, and find “my contributions” in the top right corner.
  • Under the “Perk” header, click “View Contribution Details”.

  • On your purchase confirmation email, the order number is written in the top right corner.
  • Note that the order numbers start at 1000.

  • On your purchase confirmation email, the order number is written under the purchase summary.
  • Note that the order numbers start at 1000.

Survey & shipping address

We mentioned in a past update that for kickstarter and indiegogo backers, we will not be shipping your unit until you confirm the shipping address through your backerkit survey. You can access your backerkit survey through these links for Kickstarter and Indiegogo.

If you are unable to access your survey, it is likely that the email on file is no longer correct. In that case, please email and include:

  • Your full name
  • The old email on file
  • The new email you’d like to replace it with
  • The shipping address on file (for a security check)

To be clear: backers who purchased through or do not need to fill out any survey. We will be emailing you to confirm your shipping information prior to sending your unit.

How to update your shipping address

If you ordered through kickstarter or Indiegogo, please follow the instructions above to access your backerkit account. This is the best place to update your shipping address.

If your backerkit address has been locked-in, or you ordered through or, please send an email to with the following information:

  • Your full name
  • Your order number
  • Your old shipping address (for a security check)
  • The new shipping address

How to reach us

If you have any question we haven’t addressed in this update, the best place to reach us is at

In order to prioritize our time towards shipping units and developing software, we may not respond to emails and comments immediately. Thank you for your patience, and rest assured that we will get to them all as soon as we can!

Enowork app

We just released the latest version 0.1.2 of the Enowork app on Windows and MacOS. This update includes the following bug fixes:

  • Bluetooth streaming fixed on MacOS Big Sur
  • Fixed caching issue resulting in missing data
  • Software version added in settings (About)
  • More detailed crash logs
  • Other minor reliability improvements

To all backers currently using the app: we need as much information about any issues you’re facing with the app as possible. If you encounter any bugs, please submit a post to our forum at, or send us an email at

We are currently putting together an FAQ, which will include support queries for the most common issues people are facing. We’ll follow up with more details about this once the page goes live.

That’s all for now! Please share any questions you have in the comments, and we’ll be sure to answer them.

Thank you for the support, and lots of love!

– The Eno Team

  • Charlotte

Thank you for the update! Will I get notified in advance when my reward is shipped?

Also, is there any way to contribute to the testing, even without a unit?

    • Jacob (eno)

Hey Charlotte – yes, you’ll receive tracking information when your product ships!

We’d love the extra help testing Enowork! Please reach out at and we can help get you onboarded.

  • Dustin Beasley

The survey said I was 2,667 but Kickstarter said I was 3400+ What number am I using?

    • Jacob (eno)

Hey Dustin – the survey number is incorrect. We’re relying on the kickstarter order number, since this one goes in order or purchase.

  • Simon

VERY EXCITED to get mine 🙂 Keep up with the hard work!!

    • Jacob (eno)

Thanks Simon, we can’t wait to ship you yours!

  • Bart

If I understand correctly, first all kickstarter backers are served, then the indiegogo backers. I assume the numbers these sites provide are unrelated? So, since I am a indiegogo backer, I’d like to know how many backers are on each platform? Or, are these numbers related and is the number provided by the platform your actual place inth3 ‘queue’?

    Thanks for letting us know.

    • Jacob (eno)

Hey Bart – you’re correct. It’s nontrivial for us to be more specific since some Kickstarter backers haven’t filled their survey (so they’ll be skipped and moved to a later batch). But since we have >3000 units to ship to kickstarter backers, it’s safe to say that most Indiegogo backers will be in batch 4.

  • Sophie

I think mine will be coming in the next batch, I’m so excited! Can’t wait to try it!!!

    • Jacob (eno)

  • Viktor

How can we know in which batch we are? Please post some schedule.

    • Jacob (eno)

Hi Viktor – For now, this is all we can provide. Using your backer number, you should be able to estimate which batch you’re in.

We’ll share more details when we ship the next batch!

  • Backer

As you can see (calculate) on the kickstarter website there are 4242 units bought on kickstarter so even Some kickstarter buyers will have to wait for the 4th batch.

    • Jacob (eno)

      That’s likely correct!

  • JP

Well, as I am from Kickstarted and in the high 700 numbers and there are 250+350 produces, I think I am good to wait until February then… Time to figure out another Xmas present!

  • Sean

2,480, which would put me in batch 3, not until February…

  • gabriele

    So disappointing
    Contribution ID 20
    Contribution Date April 10, 2017
Maybe I will get it 4 years later and you charged us additional for delivery as well

  • Boris Brodski

There will be a version for Linux, am I right?
As a professional programmer I use Linux, like (I’m sure) many other your customers do.
Since you are already cross-platform it shouldn’t be to hard to support Linux as well.

I can help you with it.

    • Jacob (eno)

Yes, that’s the intention! We currently have a Linux build that isn’t 100% stable, but that does work. Once the Mac+Win builds are stable, we’ll get the linux build up to speed and release it as well.

  • Lukas

I’d very much appreciate a Linux version as well.

    • Jacob (eno)

      Noted that’s the plan!

  • Bart Roozendaal

To be hones, I don’t get it why Kickstarter-backers are getting priority over Indiegogo or website buyers. IMHO all should get their units in priority of backing date. I backed on 8 May 2017. It find it a bit disappointing to say the least to see Kickstarter-backers that backed later to go first. If the timelines are correct, I’ll go well over a 4 year waiting period. I think you can do better and have a more fair process for this.

    • Jacob (eno)

Hey Bart! I agree with your comment – in fact, this is how we’re doing it. The kickstarter campaign ended April 5 2017, which means 100% of the kickstarter backers purchased before the Indiegogo went live. This is why we’ll be shipping theirs first. After that, we’ll be going in order of purchase between the indigogo and website backers. Sorry if this wasn’t clear!

  • Leo

WOW, I’m number 3,849. Was hoping I would receive at least one of the 3 I ordered for Xmas.

  • Bart Roozendaal

@Leo: that is a number from Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or the website?

I’m trying to figure out when I’m up: I’m on Indiegogo (unfortunately, now it seems). Still don’t get it why the backing date is not used. Also, too bad there doesn’t seem an incentive to reply via this blog-comments for all to see…. I’m a patient man, but the projected delivery date reported on Indiegogo is December 2017 😐 Go figure…

    • Jacob (eno)

Hey Bart – responded to your comment below!

  • Rod

So, this update mentions the estimate time of shipping for 3.1k units leaving the rest to be disclosed… In kickstarter you guys received close to 3.9k supporters, when will the 800 left out of the planning going to receive their units?

Will they receive their units at some point within the next decade or do I need to plan a will to leave it to my great great grand children as a gift from the past?

  • Gunnar Traesko

    February 2021…?!
I guess, you have broke every record in being delayed. Looking at your updates over time, the present delivery dates are most likely to be postponed.
Your project is a laugh, your planning sucks and your updates are just BS. I have gave up on you!

  • Jacob B

Jacob, why do you keep deleting comments critiquing you and Enophone? That’s a big red flag mate.

    • Jacob (eno)

      Hey Jacob!
We’re trying to promote healthy conversation in our blogs. We feel that includes any fair and honest criticism towards us, but it doesn’t need to include defamation, threats, posts that could endanger other backers, or the like. Comments we feel don’t promote healthy conversation will be removed.

  • Sam H

    Seconding the question..

While maybe one comment warranted removal (e.g. calling for your arrest I think), the rest were from customers who are appear to be generally frustrated about lack of transparency and consistent delays.

I mean put yourself in their shoes…it is really ridiculous that we can’t even get our money back from something we backed literally years ago…

  • Carlos

    Dear Eno team,
I backed you in the beginning of the Kickstarter campaign, have believed in your idea from the beginning. However, almost 4 years and a lot of broken promises later, you have still not delivered anything at all. Not even a working app for testing. From a customer perspective, you have not performed at all.
I not sorry to put this your attention. Delete my comment, if you find it inappropriate, please. But you have disappointed your backers! That is not good business.
The ambassadors, Kickstarter should have generated for you, are not longer ambassadors. You have lost us!
Unfortunately, I do not believe changing your company name will help you. The internet never forgets.
All in all, you have lost me. I cannot and I will not recommend you to anybody. If I receive my headphones sometimes in 2021, it will be good but it will not change my mind. As I wrote, you have lost me!

  • Jan

Hello Jacob. I bought this on February 2, 2018 on the website and I have number 1139. So I am in batch 4. When will you have a timeline for these shipments please? Thank you.

Thank you! Your submission has been received!
