Updates on Enophone and Enowork, and a recap of Eno’s progress in 2021!
We’re back with our monthly update. 2021 really flew by – this post will share our latest update on Enophone and Enowork, as we’ll look back on the year’s progress before heading into the new year.
Enophones have shipped to Kickstarter backers with order number below 3750. In the next couple weeks, we will to order number is 3900 and below, so keep your eyes peeled!
Very important: be on the lookout for an email from your local customs office asking you to pay any import taxes. Failure to respond promptly may result in several months of delays, so please keep an eye on your junk mail folder!
V0.5.1 was released earlier this month, introducing a new session page, updated status indicator, and more. V0.6 will be coming out early in the new year, and will include some awesome data visualization tools.
Finally, read on for a recap of Eno’s progress in 2021, and some expectations for the next year!
This month we shipped several hundred Enophones, delivering to every Kickstarter backer with order number below 3750. We’re continuing to receive Enophones on a rolling basis from our factory, and will be sending out the next shipment to Kickstarter backers with order number below 3900 in a couple weeks.
If you have not already, please read our November update for instructions on updating your shipping address.
For clarity, here’s a quick breakdown of what you’ll receive when your Enophone ships:
If you receive any of those three notices, and feel like you’re lacking information, please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org – our community manager Oliver is always happy to help!
After this, it’s very important to keep an eye on your emails. There’s a high probability that the shipping company or your country’s local customs will reach out by email to coordinate payment of any VATs, duties, or local import taxes. These payments are legally required for you to receive your Enophone, and are not something we control. Failure to respond promptly may result in several months of delays, so please keep an eye on your junk mail folder!
For the remainder of Batch 5, rather than arriving all at once, our factory continues to produce hundreds of Enophones each month. We’re continuing to ship Enophones on a rolling basis, as fast as we receive them. In the next 2 weeks we will be sending out several hundred more, to every Kickstarter backer with order number below 3900, with shipments to the remaining Kickstarter backers and those who ordered through Indiegogo or our website shipping soon after.
We can’t wait for you to experience Enophone, and share your feedback with us!
Enowork v0.5 released earlier this month, bringing several very significant features: Auto-tracking, auto-start at login, a new session page, an updated status indicator, and more. V0.5.1 released shortly after, patching a few bugs and providing stability improvements based on your feedback.
We are still experiencing an issue with MacOS Monterey, which is interfering with Enophone’s Bluetooth connection and preventing streaming the sensor data to the app. We are still in discussions with Apple to resolve this issue as soon as possible. In order to continue using the Enowork app, we suggest that you avoid updating to Monterey for the time being.
The team has been hard at work on v0.6, which we anticipate releasing before the next update. This update will bring a hotly requested feature: a stats page, for long-term data visualization.
The stats page will allow you to view all your focus sessions at once, to look for trends that can influence your productivity. You can identify what time of day you’re most focused, when you tend to work most, which app you use most often, and what your average focus level is. Filters will allow you to compare different days of the week or compare month by month. Over time, we’ll continue to add new dimensions to this data, to help you better extract insights from your daily tracking.
We’re really excited about this new feature, as it brings Enophone one step closer to our vision of a Fitbit for your brain. Together with the auto-tracking in v0.5, using Enophone to track your brain is easier and more insightful than ever.
We can’t wait for you to try it out!
In many ways, 2021 has been a difficult year for Eno. The supply chain shortages caused massive delays that we could not have anticipated. Shipping delays compounded this, as some Enophone shipments took months to arrive. On the software side we had to focus mostly on infrastructure, including a massive database migration, instead of building the new features that we wanted.
On the other hand, 2021 has been Eno’s most productive and exciting year yet. We’ve shipped Enophones to backers all over the world. The app has received 4 massive updates, introducing some new features we’ve been working on since we first began our R&D. Our team has grown substantially to help support our users. And we successfully raised the funding we needed to make all of this happen.
For our last update of the year, we wanted to offer a quick recap of Eno’s 2021 by the numbers – what we’ve achieved, and where we intend to go.
We see this as our biggest success story of the year – despite the chaotic state of the supply chain, we’re incredibly proud to have finally delivered thousands of Enophones to our backers.
As we’ve shared throughout the years, it’s been a difficult, confusing, and often frustrating ride trying to miniaturize clinical neurotechnology into a comfortable and easy to use form factor. The depth of research, design, engineering, and manufacturing required to bring this product to life has astounded us time and time again. And while we were not able to ship all of the outstanding Enophone orders this year, being able to look back on the thousands of Enophones brought to life and shipped around the world, I’m incredibly proud of the hard work our team has put in to achieve this goal.
This one continues to blow me away! Across nearly every continent, people have rallied together in our search improve our focus and better understand our brains.
We can’t wait to get everyone on the platform, with our different experiences, sharing our insights and helping each other improve our productivity!
This one is simply astounding. Since v0.5 introduced auto-tracking, the amount of time people spend tracking their neural data with Enophone has skyrocketed.
When we first started building Eno, collecting 3 hours of brain data per week was simply impossible to imagine. Now, it’s as easy as listening to music while you work. At this rate, many of you will collect over 10,000 minutes of EEG data in 2022!
With our next updates, we are prioritizing building tools to get the most out of this data. Adding new metrics, better dashboards, more stats analysis tools, and highlighting important trends is just the start. We’ve spent a lot of time in 2021 doing the R&D foundation to add these new tools into Enowork. We can’t wait to share these features with you next year, as we keep building towards our vision of making Enophone the Fitbit for your brain.
This year, our priority on software has been improving the app’s infrastructure, in order to integrate the core functionality necessary for Enophone to live up to our Fitbit for your brain vision.
Throughout the year, we’ve released 13 updates to Enowork: 4 major updates, and 9 minor ones. This brought the app from the v0.1 release that shipped alongside beta units, to the v0.5.1 version currently available, featuring automatic tracking, and a newly designed version of almost every page in the app.
In 2022 we have major plans to add new features geared towards helping you make the most of your data. We can’t wait to share what’s next with you all!
Finally: without our backers, there would be no Eno. Throughout 2021 we’ve counted over 2,000 interactions with you through our comments, emails, messages, and more.
Hearing your stories about how Eno has impacted your work has been the most satisfying part of the process. In 2022 we’re looking forward to sharing more tools, stories, and guides to getting the most out of your Enophones, and building a community where we can discuss the future of work, wellness, and neurotech.
Thank you again for continuing to support Eno. Your support, feedback, and excitement has had a huge impact on our product and helped get us to where we are today. As we enter 2022, we’re more excited than ever to keep building our vision of the Fitbit for your brain.
As always, you can reach us at email@example.com with any feedback, questions, or share your thoughts in the comments below.
Happy holidays to everyone. Stay safe, and cheers to a healthy, productive 2022!
Lots of love,
– The Eno Team
